About Us

It was announced on May 20, 2010 that Civic movement "Renewal of the Country", or "OK" - in abbreviated form from the Ukrainian language ("Onovlennia Krayiny") - started its activity.

Civic movement "Renewal of the Country" aims at renovating political system and fostering reforms needed to improve well-being of the Ukrainian citizens and strengthen state independence.

The initiators of the Movement believe that unification of people, youth organisations and trade union opposing scandalous practices of the local authorities, illegal developers, raiders, etc. could be not only an alternative to the existing political parties, but also serve a state renovating catalyst.

The immediate objective of "OK" movement is to draw up "People's programme for renewal of the country". Activists of the movement are to address people on (a) changes they seek in interior, (b) expectations from the politicians and policy-makers, (c) problematic issues of local communities.

Our principles:
  • CONTROL over the activity of state authorities, their abiding by the laws of Ukraine, utilisation of budget funds;
  • ASSISTANCE (legal, juridical, methodological, informational) to non-governmental organisations, trade unions, human rights organisations - to everyone who strives against lawlessness of state officials and is open to reforms;
  • PROTECTION of rights and freedoms of the Ukrainian citizens.

        Civic movement "Renewal of the Country" is already supported by 100 other NGOs from all over Ukraine. Amongst them are Zaporizhia regional youth civic organisation "New Direction" ("Noviy Napriamok"), L'viv regional civic organisation "League for Protection of Elections Organisers' Rights", Rivne city civic organisation "Centre for Interns and Volunteers", Sumy regional youth organisations' committee, Ternopil' league of Ukrainian women, Khmelnyts'ka female youth organisation "New Ethics", Khmelnyts'ka regional civic organisation "Executive and Self-Government Bodies' Activity Monitoring Committee", Chernigiv branch of the Ukrainian Taras Shevchenko community "Prosvita".
